Meditation is a simple process of relieving stress and anxiety by way of thought, observation and reflection. It is becoming more popular since it helps in providing the physical benefits as well as psychological ones. Zen meditation, Taoist meditation, mindfulness meditation, Buddhist meditation etc are the different types of meditation. Breathing is the fundamental exercise for starting any kind of meditation. It includes the concentration part on the breathing process. Though, the process seems easy but it requires a lot of practice to have dominancy.

Techniques:

To accomplish breathing meditation, one must set aside at least 10 minutes from their daily routine. It can be carried out by following the simple steps given below:

* Take a comfortable posture for carrying out this activity.

* Inhale the air slowly and deeply so that the lungs are filled with air.

* Hold the air inside the lungs for two seconds.

* Slowly release the air from the lungs.

Care must be taken that inhaling and exhaling process is accomplished as comfortably as possible. Repeat the procedures for ten times a day and your breathing exercise is completed. Initially, the meditation could bring sleepiness and boring attitude towards the exercise. But, once you master the technique, you will soon realize the great benefits of this ten minute exercise. The exercise can be performed sitting straight, eyes closed partially or fully and breathing deeply. This posture and breathing helps to increase the supply of oxygen in our lungs.

Purpose:

The purpose of breathing exercise is to increase the supply of oxygen in the body. Normally, we do not breathe properly and as a result lungs don't expand to their maximum capacity. This makes our lungs more inactive. By performing the breathing meditation, we can activate the functions of our lungs. This results in giving a fresh and energetic feeling to our body. This process also helps in curing the internal infections like cough, cold and in proper functioning of the internal organs. Breathing meditation is a door step for entering the fruitful world of meditation. After mastering this technique, one can move forward for the other professional meditation techniques so as to bring peace and happiness in life.
